What this package is
Our weekend getaway is the package we have refined the most over 12 years. It is built for travellers leaving Dubai or Sharjah on a Friday morning and back home by Saturday evening, and it covers the two headline Musandam experiences — the Khor Sham dhow cruise and the Jebel Harim mountain safari — plus a comfortable hotel night and all transfers.
The dhow cruise on day 1 is our standard full-day cruise (10:00 – 16:00) on the dhow Al-Salam or Al-Khaleej. The mountain safari on day 2 is the half-day version — we climb the Sayh Plateau, stop at the Jebel Harim viewpoint, the Khor Najd viewpoint, and return to Khasab by 14:00. The hotel is a 3 or 4-star property in Khasab town, walking distance from the corniche.
Pickup on day 1 is from any hotel in Dubai, Sharjah or Ajman, or from the Al Dara border post. Drop-off on day 2 is back to the same place. The package is fully private — you are not sharing the dhow or the 4x4 with other guests.

The weekend getaway is our most refined package. We have been running this exact itinerary for 12 years; we have changed three things Since 2020 (the boat, the hotel, the 4x4). Everything else is the same because it works.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 (Friday)
- 06:00 – Pickup from your hotel in Dubai / Sharjah / Ajman (or 07:30 from Al Dara border)
- 08:30 – Cross the Al Dara border; our driver handles the paperwork
- 10:00 – Arrive Khasab, board the dhow Al-Salam or Al-Khaleej
- 10:30 – Sail into Khor Sham, first swim stop at Telegraph Island
- 12:30 – Omani buffet lunch on board
- 13:45 – Second swim stop at Seebi Island
- 16:00 – Arrive Khasab Port, check in to the hotel
- Evening — free; we recommend the Khasab Corniche walk and a fish dinner at one of the harbour restaurants
Day 2 (Saturday)
- 07:30 – Breakfast at the hotel
- 08:30 – 4x4 mountain safari departs from the hotel
- 09:30 – Climb to the Sayh Plateau (1,400 m)
- 11:00 – Jebel Harim viewpoint (2,087 m)
- 12:00 – Picnic lunch under an acacia tree on the plateau
- 13:30 – Khor Najd viewpoint; optional 20-min swim at the pebble beach
- 15:00 – Drive back to Khasab
- 16:00 – Border crossing back to the UAE
- 18:00–20:00 – Drop-off at your hotel in Dubai / Sharjah / Ajman

Who this package is for
Couples, friends, families with kids over 6, and any first-time visitor with a Friday–Saturday window. Not the right pick if you cannot climb the swim ladder at Telegraph Island, you have a bad back (the 4x4 leg is bumpy), or you need a private cabin for the hotel night (we use standard hotel rooms, not over-water suites).
Local tip
Pack a small soft bag, not a hard suitcase. The dhow has limited deck space for luggage and we store your main bag at the hotel during the mountain day.
Frequently asked questions
Can I leave from Abu Dhabi?
Yes — add OMR 40 per person for an Abu Dhabi pickup. The drive is about 1 hour longer each way.
Is the border crossing really handled for me?
Yes — our driver meets you at the Al Dara counter, takes your passports and the cash, fills the forms, and walks them to the booth. You wait in the car.
Can I extend to 3 days?
Yes — we add a day-trip to Seebi Island or an overnight dhow cruise for OMR 75 per person. The hotel and the transfers stay the same.
What hotel do I stay in?
A 3–4 star Khasab hotel, usually the Golden Tulip or a similar property. We confirm the hotel 48 hours before the trip.
