Private dhow charter from Khasab — your boat, your route, your day
Charter the dhow Al-Salam or Al-Khaleej privately. Pick the route, the menu and the schedule. Best for families, honeymoons and small events.

What you'll do
A private dhow charter is the right pick when the standard 35-guest shared cruise does not work for you — a multi-generational family, a honeymoon couple, a small corporate retreat, or a group of friends who want the boat to themselves.
We have two boats that work for private charters: Al-Salam (35 guests, 22 m, our largest, best for 15–35 guests) and Al-Khaleej (25 guests, 18 m, our prettiest, best for 8–20 guests). Both are traditional Omani dhows, both have shaded lower decks, carpeted cushions, life jackets for every guest, and on-board washrooms. We can also charter Al-Marwa (18 guests, 15 m) for small parties up to 12.
A private charter is yours for the day. You pick the route, the menu, the music, the swim stops and the timing. The most popular route is the full Khor Sham circuit with Telegraph Island and Seebi Island; the most popular customisation is a sunset return rather than a 16:00 return. We can do a full-day, half-day, overnight or multi-day charter.
The menu is yours to design. The standard private-charter menu is grilled fish, grilled chicken, biryani, hummus, salads, fruit, soft drinks. We can do lobster, kingfish, sushi platters or a custom birthday cake for an additional cost — ask us.
A private charter is not the cheapest way to see Musandam, but it is the most flexible. Most of our private guests are returning customers.

Local tip from the team
The most popular private-charter upgrade is a sunset return — it costs an extra OMR 50 and it turns an excellent day into a memorable one. If you can spare the time, do it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I bring alcohol on a private charter?
You can bring your own — we do not provide it, and the crew will not serve it, but it is yours to enjoy responsibly. We do not allow glass bottles on board.
Can I bring my own DJ or speaker?
Yes. Battery-powered speakers are fine. We do not allow amplified music after 18:00 out of respect for the other boats in the fjord.
What is the minimum booking?
6 hours for day charters; 24 hours for overnight. Half-day is available for OMR 80 (no overnight).
Can we swim anywhere we want?
You can swim in any of our standard anchorages. Captain will not anchor in spots he has not surveyed — some khors have underwater rocks that are not on the map.
